“M3U” is the most common way to deliver an IPTV subscription — and the most searched term in adult IPTV. Here is what an M3U link actually is, how to load yours in any app, and why the free lists floating around online cause more trouble than they are worth.
An M3U file is a simple text playlist. Each entry gives a channel's name, logo and category, followed by the address of its stream. Your player app reads the list and turns it into a TV menu. A (fictional) excerpt looks like this:
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="channel1" tvg-logo="logo.png" group-title="Adult | HD",Channel One HD
http://example.com/live/user/pass/1001.ts
You rarely see the file itself: providers give you an M3U link (a URL) that the app downloads and refreshes automatically. That link contains your personal username and password — treat it like a key.
| M3U link | Xtream Codes | |
|---|---|---|
| What you enter | One long URL | Server + username + password |
| Programme guide (EPG) | Separate EPG link to add | Loaded automatically |
| VOD and series | Sometimes mixed into live channels | Separate, well-organised menus |
| Best for | VLC, Kodi, simple players | TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, IBO Player |
Our advice: use Xtream Codes whenever your app supports it, and keep the M3U link for VLC, Kodi or as a backup. Red Velvet gives you both.
Copy and paste rather than typing: a single wrong character breaks the link.
The guide comes as a separate XMLTV link. Add it in your player's EPG settings, then refresh. If programmes show at the wrong time, set the time shift (for example +1 h) in the same menu. Channels without a tvg-id will simply show no guide — that is normal.
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| “Failed to load playlist” | Re-paste the full link; check that your subscription is active |
| Channels load but don't play | Switch the stream format to HLS (m3u8) or TS in the app settings; try another network or a VPN |
| No programme guide | Add the XMLTV/EPG link and refresh |
| Playlist is huge and slow | Use Xtream Codes instead, or hide categories you don't use |
A personal URL from your provider that loads the list of adult channels and videos into a player app such as TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, VLC or Kodi.
Xtream Codes is easier and loads the programme guide automatically. M3U is ideal for VLC and Kodi. A good provider gives you both.
No. They are usually unlicensed, stop working quickly and expose you to malware and scams.
Open VLC, choose Media → Open Network Stream, paste the M3U link and press Play.
Usually a copy-paste error or an expired subscription. Re-paste the full link, check your account, or use Xtream Codes instead.
